Climate Change Project:
Content Overview:
1. What is climate change and how is it different from global warming? Both of these terms are technically correct but need to be used in different contexts. The term global warming is becoming less and less used by people because we have realized that it is too narrowing and the Earth is not only warming up but also going through a lot of other changes, which is why we use the term climate change. Climate change is much more broad and covers the change in the usual weather in a certain climate, from the amount of rain to the overall temperature over a period of time. It is more accurate to the overall situation right now. 2. Why should we care about climate change, now, when it's been happening naturally since the Earth began? Climate change is a natural process but is much more of a concern right now because of the speed and extremity in which it is happening right now. It wouldn't be affecting the Earth and all living things on it if it was continuing to happen at a natural rate. But, because we can see how it is affecting the food chain and |
Project Reflection:
1. How does your project demonstrate your understanding of climate change?
Our actual product didn't show a lot of our direct knowledge of climate change but showed more of our knowledge through our presentation. We were trying to get the point across that humans have a huge impact on climate change, especially through things like trash in the oceans. Temperature, acidity, and levels of the ocean have changed drastically. We thought that trash would be an impactful and applicable material to use. The global, daily average for trash produced by one human is 4.4 pounds. By cutting down on single use plastics and micro trash we can begin to make a positive impact on our Earth. Overall, these are the general things that we spoke about to our audience to show our knowledge.
2. What was your largest area of growth during this project?
I think that throughout this project I grew a lot in adaptability. Me and my partner had some points of disagreement and had to go with the flow to come to a consensus. Using our time wisely was also difficult for us at some points. In the middle of the project we realized that we were going to be able to do less than we thought we would be able to which made us have to adapt and do what we could with the time we had. I felt like at many points we had to find ways to adapt to the situation which sometimes worked and sometimes didn't but I definitely grew in this throughout the project.
3. What was your greatest strength during this project?
My greatest strength during this project was communication. This came out when I had to talk with my partner. At some points we disagreed on some things. I feel like I did a good job of talking it out and keeping the conversation going so that we could decide on something that we were both happy with. I also feel that I did a good job communicating with my teachers about materials and borrowing things that weren't mine.

What are the Biological Need of Adolescents?
Infographic:
Project Description:
During this project we started off by studying the brain in general. Then once we got enough background information we narrowed in on the adolescent brain. Our assignment was to create a infographic focusing on a topic that had to do with "What are the biological needs of adolescents?" I chose to focus on "Why teens need to socialize". I found out some interesting things about how social isolation impacts the brain and how loneliness in your adolescent years can affect your health in your adult years.
This project was important to me because I am an adolescent. It is very interesting to learn about what is going on in my brain and my peers brains. This topic is something that we can all relate to so it makes it more engaging. Throughout this project we learned a lot about ourselves and how we act as adolescents.

Personal Reflection:
My biggest challenge during this project was probably finding credible data. I learned how to search effectively. It was hard to find data and facts relating to exactly what I was studying. I personally felt that in order to make a good infographic I needed to have a sufficient amount of knowledge so, I spent lots of time reading which in turn shortened my time for working on the infographic. But, I think it turned out pretty good. My greatest success during this project was the infographic itself. I feel proud of the way it turned out because of how little time I had. I also think that the content connects really well to the subject.
If I had to make changes I would change how many words are on the infographic. I would like to learn more about a good infographic so that I can make one myself. I would have liked to convey my information through more graphics rather than words. Overall, I am proud of my work and feel like I learned a lot about the biological needs of adolescents.
